This one peeves me off. This iconic picture of children running from U.S. troops in Vietnam (the chop puts a plane in there too, haha), includes a young girl who has torn her clothes off because they were burning from napalm. I think the original photo may be a Pulitzer Prize winner. For Wikia to think this is porn, or child porn (fap fap fap???), takes the censorship issue to a new level. Doesn't mean I'm going to leave the other side of our island, we need to liberate it, get rid of that content warning, and call them on stupid things like this. Aleister 1:26 27-3-'13

P.S. here is the wikipedia page for the girl in the photo, Phan Thi Kim, and the iconic photo did win the Pulitzer Prize. I've also opened up a forum on the other side of the island site.

If you think that's bad, you should see what they did to a picture of me. Nothing. *Sniff*. When am I going to get my censor bars, Wikia? When?! Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 01:59, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
There is really no reason to ever edit that site again. At least for me. The Woodburninator Wood burning.gif Minimal Effort  02:03, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
Wikia have made their position clear (zero tolerance for nudity) and therefore it does not surprise me that they would censor this image. Because Wikia's content policy is dictated by their corporate investors and advertisers (not by the users) I do not see any possible way that we could "liberate" Uncyclowikia. -- The Zombiebaron 02:54, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
But she's not nude - she has the United States army and air force on her back (plus the best napalm money can buy). Isn't wikia still owned by Jimbo Wales, or did he sell it? I know it has a "newish" C.E.O. who probably has never posted on uncy. Anyway, I'm making a fuss about this censorship over there too, and left this same forum there and wrote Sannse. Deleting this pic is crossing a line which has "stupid" on one side and "less stupid" on the other. Al 10:48 27-3-'13
It was only a matter of time before it happened. With the way Wikia had been behaving during the whole "Problem Images" issue, I'm not the least bit surprised at what they've done, and I think you're fighting a lost cause here, Aleister. It's graphic, there's nudity, and therefore, Wikia can't have it, iconic or not. Simple as that. Lord Scofield Stark 12:35, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
He's coming for your nudity!

I think this should be our response. The Woodburninator Wood burning.gif Minimal Effort  18:47, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Good response. You may have come up with a good idea, have Uncy's best choppers come up with lots of variations on the theme. There may be good use for them. What's Jimbo Wales holding in his hands on this one? Nice pic. Aleister 19:39 27-3-'13
Just some censorship bars. The Woodburninator Wood burning.gif Minimal Effort  19:44, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Random MrN rant on Wikia

I have never understood how it's possible for Wikia to operate and do what they do. They run for profit. They admit that they make money out of Uncyc. The CC license clearly states that content released under it can not be used for profit. So... How are Wikia able to host Uncyclopedia??? They are using Creative Commons material for profit. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 19:53. Mar 27. 2013

It's called "hypocrisy". Y'know, "the act or practice of pretending to be what one is not or to have principles or beliefs that one does not have." Tangentially, I hear Modusoperandi's drag name during his heroin days was "HypoChrissy". He did things with a ping-pong ball that drove the boys at the cabaret wild. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngThu, Mar 28 '13 1:53 (UTC)

Random upper-case words in a very large font

REALLY? YOU GUYS ARE SURPRISED BY THIS? ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngThu, Mar 28 '13 1:56 (UTC)

Surprise isn't the word, it's principle. This is not a photograph someone should censor, it's a place to at least take a stand for "Oh no they didn't" that even Jimbo Wales might agree is over the top. That said, can someone chop a pic of her on fire, which hides her crotch and breasts but somehow is still funny - ah, how about chopping her on fire in the pic of Jimbo Wales chasing her with the censorship bars? Then Wikia would accept it on the other site. Unununium suggested the child on fire alternative as one Wikia would not censor, which would be funny and make a great statement. Thanks. Aleister 10:21 28-3-'13
And Unununium made a good pic of her on fire for the forum "over there". Well made black and white. I put it into the slot where the old one was censored, in a page called HowTo:Fly a Plane. MrN wrote sannse a note on her talk page, under mine, and those haven't been answered as yet. Those are the news headlines, coming up next, weather. Al 16:15 28-3-'13
If you'd like, I could give you Sannse's answer. It'll be couched in language that seems polite and even playful, but is really just insulting when you think about it, and will amount to a solid, firm, well-rounded "because we said so".  ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngFri, Mar 29 '13 2:12 (UTC)

For shits and giggles I checked out the other site's version of this discussion. When did Spike become such a jerk? --monika (talk) 23:11, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

SPIKE has a penis for a brain. From what I hear, the opposite is not true, which is a good thing, because that could get messy. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngFri, Apr 12 '13 1:50 (UTC)
