I'd Like To Make A Suggestion...

Now i dont know whether this is the right forum to put this in but if its wrong...could somebody put it in the right place? Now then i often peruse 'things to do' to see if there's any articles that need help/spelling grammar checks or maybe even VFD. The is always a hell of alot of deadend pages around and i was wondering if we could maybe put a helpful reminder to writers to Link Their Bloody Articles

Oh Dear
Turns out it is in the wrong place. Sorry about that. but i'll leave it here and see what the reaction is...if its positive i'll stick it up for an official vote. --BonSig.png (Bonner) (Talk). 21:56, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

An Example

This article does not exist yet or may have been huffed. You can create it by typing in the box below. It is advised you read the beginner's guide and this first. You don't have to, but if you do, maybe, just maybe, your article won't die when it is so young.

Also, please consider checking to see if we already have a version of the article you are trying to create.

If it has been recently deleted, you may also want to contact an admin or check to see if an old copy is gathering dust on a pointless mirror site somewhere instead of recreating the same text again.

Pages about you, your friends, your schoolmates, your teachers, etc. WILL be deleted on sight.

Please remember to link your articles [[Link Name]] as this helps uncyclopedia stay connected and easily Navigable

Any Suggestions?

Please give me some feedback on my suggestion. Thanks in advance :) --BonSig.png (Bonner) (Talk). 21:26, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion: Why don't you fix it instead of whining about it? --Lord Fluffy who rains fire from the heavens 23:38, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Bonner, I agree that it's important that people make sure their article is linked to, especially on Uncyc because nobody is going to search for "I maed a yuky doody." They'll only find articles like that via links. But I'm not sure it warrants a spot in the new article starter text - there's already rather a lot of info there. We don't want to overwhelm people with instructions.
And Fluffy, knock it off. He's making a suggestion that only an admin can implement because regular users can't edit MediaWiki:Newarticletext. So no, he can't do it himself. —rc (t) 23:44, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Bonner, get thee out there and make use of the old Template:Deadend. Those people from old times think of everything...

~ L.P. Hartley on the existence of Template:Deadend

Yeah, use Template:Deadend and someone will probably link the article. Or... You could go and add links yourself! --Dexter111344 01:37, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
I guess Bonner must be referring to articles with few links rather than those with no links at all, because Special:Deadendpages hasn't had over 150 articles in it for months, and about 50 of the pages there have a reason for staying as deadends. Yeah, just use the deadend template on those, and someone might get around to fixing them (no, that isn't my job :) ). Icons-flag-au.png Sir Cs1987 UOTM. t. c 03:04, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
You still do it sometimes. I've seen you. --Dexter111344 04:27, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
If an article appears in Special:Deadendpages, but has a good reason to be a dead end, you can put {{deadend2}} on it. It just adds a hidden link to take it off the special page. Spang talk 04:59, 31 Jul 2007
/me slaps head. I should have realised there was an easy solution to that. Icons-flag-au.png Sir Cs1987 UOTM. t. c 02:02, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Okay then thanks for the suggestions :) much appreciated --BonSig.png (Bonner) (Talk). 10:06, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
