I hope you enjoy the site and being an Uncyclopedian. Always remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button () above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.
If you want to start an article of your own it is usually best to start it within your namespace, for example, User:Manwithnoname/Article about stuff. If you do this you can edit it at your leisure and move it over into the mainspace when it’s done. To start an article in the mainspace attach this template - {{construction}} to your work, so other Users will know you'll be back to finish it.
Should you need any help, do not hesitate to ask me on my talk page or ask at the Village Dump Forum. You can also add the following: {{help}}
to this page along with a message and someone will come along and help you if they can. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced writers straight to you. Browse our list of available mentors, and leave them a message on their talk page. Once again welcome to the site. — Sir Sycamore (talk) 18:26, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
It's probably really hard...[edit source]
... to try to fix Naruto with RDB undoing everything you do, right? Well, here's a trick that'll get him to stop. Write the article here, from scratch. Get a fresh start on it. And when it gets really really really good, you can move it to mainspace. Or better yet, get it peer reviewed to make sure it's really really really good, fix it some more based on that feedback, and then move it to mainspace. This'll give you time and space and stuff to work on it without other users who think they know better than you harassing you. You might even get it featured. (But since it's an anime article, the best you can probably hope for is to get it voted on, almost get featured, get quasied, get voted on again, get quasied a second time, lose its quasi status over some old rule changes, and then talked about a lot on other parts of the internet. It's almost as rewarding. I know this from personal experience.) --monika 00:17, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Naruto...[edit source]
Hi, I'm too lazy (and not too reliable) to give a full Pee on that one, I'll let some more experienced one give it. A couple of observations though:
- it was a bit tedious to read because of the language - even though it is part of the joke. Didn't read all of it.
- the subject is not quite an in-joke to anime fans but close to it. That weakens the idea. If it were shorter, weaker parts removed, I would read it through.
- consider writing it in a deadpan style - business-like, enthusiastic about your subject, or changing viewpoints mid-riff: for instance, going full steam for the first part on how great it is, and then, after some insignificant change in the storyline, losing interest and practically cursing it to hell. I mean - this might work since it would give character to your implied author: feisty, not quite on top of it. You'll have to excuse me for not reading the article through properly - you might have done something like that. But if you have, it might improve if you start out with mega enthusiasm and flop harder in the end. Change of vocabulary at some point would work miracles in a thing like that: starting out like a proper reviewer, then lapsing into that half-baked language when the reviewer loses interest.
- I personally don't like the meta-jokes like "you weren't even born...". It can be a good one but in a scripted thing it is sort of weak: it cannot happen in an anime story. What I mean is: you imply the writers of the anime have tried to make the series funny - or meta-something - otherwise why would they write it so? (Sorry if this is too obvious but I have no way of guessing how you mean the piece). The joke of your article, then, is to make fun out of someone who tries to make fun out of something that tries to be funny. It's like writing about a joke, not quite like writing why such-and-such joke is good, but almost. You see where I'm getting at? It's far easier to make something pompously important a laughing stock. If you want to make fun of the authors of Naruto, make the slips look like accidents. If you want to make your implied author look ridiculous, make him miss some obvious point in Naruto.
These are just things that I would try so taste them out, try making a quick synopsis, playing around with the idea first, and then decide if it's worth rewriting. You seem to have done a lot of work with the article, but the subject is sort of hard. Everyone knows about anime but in my opinion, there's not enough contact surface for most of us. Try to imagine ways of making it more accessible - and above all, interesting - for those of us who are not into anime.
Well now that I'm done I see I could have given a full Pee - if nobody else does it I'll turn this into one, let me know.

Just click Upload image/file[edit source]
...and click "browse" on the page that appears. Make up a name for the target file, something that's not taken yet, and "upload". Shouldn't be hard. -- Style Guide 18:39, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
