You Are An Unwilling Participant in a Nefarious Competition![edit source]
Hello, Guitarplayer001, and welcome to Uncyclopedia!
You might think that you're being welcomed because you are liked.
Well
You have been misinformed. You are not liked.
Well, maybe a little.
Especially if you made a cake. Did you?
Anyway *clears throat*
The reason you have been welcomed is because members of an evil group, known as The Welcoming Committee are trying to score as many new members as possible to win some obscure statistic. Confused? So are we.
Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the airlock right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Don't forget the big red button marked "EJECT".
Here are a few good links for people new to this psychotic wiki:
If you read anything at all, make it the above two links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:

- Help Pages - if you need help with a specific issue
I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button () above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.
If you need help, feel free to ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or add the following: {{help}}
to this page along with a message and someone will come along and help you if they can. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply put {{adoptme}} on your Userpage to join.
Consider yourself welcomed. Now get to work! -- ~ 06:57, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Hello.[edit source]
Look, I can't tell entirely if your contributions are in good faith or bad faith, but I'm going to assume the former (seems more likely). Have you read HTBFANJS? It's not for stupid editors, it's really the guideline for editing here in general. We don't like Oscar Wilde quotes anymore. Really. We don't even like quotes. We don't like one-liners that are redirects. We don't like random bits added onto long-standing policy pages. So please, stop for a little while, read HTBFANJS a few dozen times, and engrave it into your skull. The humor here can be a little hard to grasp immediately — that's why I stuck around, lurking in the background, before I started editing anything at all. It takes a while to "get it". Until then, unfortunately, your edits are likely to be reverted if they don't fit into the flow of the page that's already present. – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • critchat) 04:45 Nov 18, 2007
- Second that by Skullthumper... I know it sound funny, but the guys here can be rather serious about their funniness! If that makes any sense. Like everyone I'm sure your here to just have fun and not cause trouble and people telling you what to do and what not to do is kinda "not funny", but that's just how it works around here... Have fun. MrN 12:46, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi again. When you leave a message for someone, like on a talk page, please sign using 4 ~ symbols. When you do this it automatically adds your name to the page so that people know who you are and what your doing. Like this: ~~~~. When you save the page you will see that it has changed the ~~~~ to your name.
Also, as you might not know. Everything you do on here is recorded in the logs. Although you can revert a page or change what's in it, everyone will know for all time what your doing. Keep that in mind. ;) Thanks. MrN 00:30, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
