At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Drumnadrochit/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! -- The Zombiebaron 18:30, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
Stop blanking stuff[edit source]
This wiki is a satire, none of it is true information, so please don't blank stuff you don't agree with. ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 23:45, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
- Feel free to add humorous pictures however. A rebus, for example. Especially if its slightly off. -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 23:47, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
- If you're gonna declare war on me, at least sign your posts (like this ~~~~) ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 00:13, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
Oh bracket bracket html blablabla, no why should I do what you say? Who's being the control freak now? Hmm?– Preceding unsigned comment added by Drumnadrochit (talk • contribs)
- 4 tildes. Its really not that hard, and it is expected etiquette on a wiki. No need to be a drama queen about a simple convention. -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 00:24, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
- YOUR NOT THE BOSS OF ME SHUT UP MOM!!!!!!! to correct you it's you're not your in this instance dear.
And what is the expected etiquette on wiki re writing articles - I believe there are rules there too?
- Ignoring the first part of that, there are indeed etiquette rules on rewriting articles. If an article already exists, and you are new to the wiki, you should rewrite it in your userspace, as explained above in your welcome message. You do this by creating a new page at say, User:Drumnadrochit/Drumnadrochit. Then you can start from scratch and make a better page. Then, have it pee reviewed. If it makes you feel better, Roman Dog Bird apparently agrees that the article you've been messing with should go, its on VFD. So you might as well go vote. -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 00:42, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
It seems my posts are being deleted now - as I stated before, I have dyslexia, getting to this point is hard enough. Please vote for deletion for me. Thank you.
