Welcome![edit source]
Hello, Carolus, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Anyway, here are a few good links for people like you:
- Beginner's Guide
- Our Vanity Policies - why we don't care about your friends
- How to be funny and not just stupid
If you read anything at all, make it the above three links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:
- About Uncyclopedia and The five pliers of Uncyclopedia
- How to get started editing on uncyclopedia
- Help Pages - if you need help with a specific issue
I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button () above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.
At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Carolus/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! Cool! I just edited a bit of the colonoscopy of the week. Carolus 23:45, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Imperial Colonization[edit source]
I'm just going to go off on a limb here and say that there's a reason Opty is deleting your stuff. You've been here all of four days, and you're trying to tell him to get off a project you haven't ever been involved with, but that he's helped spearhead? Not the best idea. Colin ALL YOUR BASEHeaney! Casa Bey Superfly Portfolio 01:51, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- I wouldn't have told him to GTFO unless he hadn't done so first. And he hadn't edited the section in question until I had already written something there -- in fact, the section was empty. You're making comments without facts. Also, if you don't want edits, why do you make these projects and specifically direct new users to edit them? Carolus 02:29, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm making comments without facts? What facts am I missing? You seem to be missing the fact that there are plans for Colonizations, and there isn't anything that just directs new users to edit them. Colin ALL YOUR BASEHeaney! Casa Bey Superfly Portfolio 02:36, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Although there really isn't much of a plan for this one. Colin ALL YOUR BASEHeaney! Casa Bey Superfly Portfolio 02:39, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, you are. 1) He told me to GTFO first. Turnaround is fair play. 2) See the top part of my page from Todd. 3) You know, look, if this is a special little club, just say so. Don't make an openly editable wiki. Don't have admins write things like: "If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!" Don't have your personal projects be openly editable. If this is a little club masquerading as an open wiki, do me a favor -- tell me how to delete my account and don't pass any more judgment. Carolus 02:47, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's not an exclusive club. It never was, and nobody claims it to be. But if someone is running a project and they tell you to GTFO, it's probably best to do that, as it's just good manners (despite any disrespect on their part). And like I said, there's probably a reason he deleted it, and edit-wars are rather unnecessary. You may want to discuss this with him on his talk page. Also: It's not fair play to do the same thing back, as all it does is incite conflict with people and create bad feelings all around/FU EDIT CONFLICT. Colin ALL YOUR BASEHeaney! Casa Bey Superfly Portfolio 02:53, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- 1) He wasn't listed as running the project anywhere immediately obvious. 2) If you're just telling folks to GTFO, it is not good manners (and I've been on the Internet a loooong time -- 17 years, almost -- and that isn't part of any netiquette, anywhere) to just do that, as it is kow-towing to a bully. Also: it IS (learn to use quotation marks right, that's a bold or caps or italics moment) fair play to do things back. It may create conflict, sure, but if you can't take it done back to you, then you shouldn't do it in the first place. But don't worry. I'm gone. Carolus 03:00, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- That was just stupid rambling. This is all besides the fact that what you wrote wasn't particularly funny. Colin ALL YOUR BASEHeaney! Casa Bey Superfly Portfolio 03:02, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- And you weren't doing just stupid rambling? And what he has written since is funny? You've failed to actually rebut my arguments -- in fact, you decided to insult me (something from which I refrained from doing to you until this). Don't reply. Carolus 03:06, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm just trying to emphasize that you shouldn't take everything so seriously here. Humor wiki. Colin ALL YOUR BASEHeaney! Casa Bey Superfly Portfolio 03:19, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

SIGH. I told you to GTFO for a couple reasons. A) Random references to Ron Jeremy and Jesus and all the other tripe you added aren't funny. At all. Try ED. B) The Imperial Colonization Project page is for Imperial Colonizers. You aren't one. You can be if you want, just sign up here. But until you do, stay away from that page please. One final note: if you're that overly concerned with netiquette, perhaps this site isn't for you. -OptyC Sucks! CUN14:35, 11 Jun
Adoption[edit source]
Hi. I received your note. I'm willing to adopt you if you'd like some guidance here, but I do recommend that you make sure that I have a writing style that you find appealing if you want help in that area. If you haven't looked into my featured stuff, I'd recommend you do so before choosing me. Or, find someone who wrote a good article from [[Uncyclopedia:VFH/Featured}|this list]]. Lemme know. No hard feelings either way. --T. (talk) 01:43, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
