UnNews:God denies causing disaster[edit source]
I recorded you article, and try next time to make them not so big. The server rejected my first attempt because the resulting audio file was way huge. I had to break it up. Otherwise it's good. I liked it.-- Sir Severian (Sprich mit mir!) 03:47, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks Sev, That's really great. Sorry about its length, I shall write shorter articles in future :)Beth 14:49, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
UnNews:Man kills PC[edit source]
Hello, I dont think the article should be your extended version, as the audio has already been done. It is also too long so will be a big file. --—Braydie 15:03, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- If such articles are to be content locked after audio is added, all articles with audio would be protected. It's certainly not that long that it would be difficult to record and upload - other articles are just as long and have audio. Even in the real world news articles are changed and updated, and being that this is the "content-free encyclopedia that anyopne can edit", to revert just because a version matches the audio defeats the object and purpose of having a site like this in the first place. - Fair point, but you killed the investigation joke. --—Braydie 17:42, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Why? All I did was ad an extra joke to the end of it. Beth 19:17, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Theres 6 investigations in one sentence, leading it to be killed. Just my opinion. --—Braydie 19:29, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- It also looks like you've been told that UnNews articles are not meant to be that long, and is why I try to keep them down to around 250 words, so they are easy to read. --—Braydie 19:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I guess that's just a matter of individual taste. Your "investigations joke" comes before mine, and so nothing is really lost from it. My own investigations joke follows on from it admittedly, but is in fact an entirely different joke.
- As it happens, what I've been informed of, is that UnNews articles are not supposed to be as long as this. The article we're talking of here is nowhere near a similar length - it's not even half of that length from what I can see - and so, no - I haven't been told that UnNews articles are not supposed to be as long as the one we're talking of here, and indeed, the one we're talking of here is of a similar length to a number of other recorded UnNews articles with audio. We just don't generally re-record UnNews b/c it's such a hassle in the first place to even get them recorded. We've only just now gotten a lot of people to record articles and we can't be troubled with re-recording. If you wanted to make a follow up to an article by creating a new one, that would probably get recorded easier than one that has already been made. It's a pain to get an admin to delete the old audio and so on and so forth. -- Sir Severian (Sprich mit mir!) 22:46, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Beth's right - the article as it stands is fine for length, but (like Sev said) we're not re-recording it. Braydie, if you think the joke's been killed, edit it so that it works again, don't just revert the whole edit. -- 23:00, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Alright cool, I think it should be left as is now, its kinda grown on me. Glad to see we've got that one cleared up :) Beth, I hope that I haven't caused any offense or the like, just reading back over my messages and it comes over quite aggressive I think, I just like to argue my point. Next, to work on the follow up article. :) --—Braydie 23:11, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- I must confess it came over as a litlle aggressive, but hey - on the internet where only the 8% of communication that's contianed in the written to work with, everything's just a mumble anyway. lol. No, no offence caused or taken, and I'm willing to as "make friends" (as my mum used to say lol) as you are. Onto the follow up :D. Beth 23:30, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
