H. Hugh Fudenberg[edit | edit source]

Herman Hugh Fudenberg (October 24, 1928 – March 15, 2014) was an American drug seller, who due to a very weird combination of events, became an immunologist and immunogeneticist.

Born in New York City a year prior to the Great Depression, Herman's parents would not have enough money to either send him to a real school or homeschool him. As a result, the only school they were able to send him was the School of Kruft, which was the only school in the nation which stated that the Earth is flat. As a result, when he graduated, he was believing every single type of pseudoscience. In college, he would have failed woefully. However, as he was selling drugs to teachers, he was able to get several diplomas in the UCLA and Chicago.

While selling drugs, in 1972, Fudenberg was hired by the Special Projects Unit of the Council for Tobacco Research, to study whether some people are genetically predisposed to emphysema. He found that they were. Hence his funding was cut off.
