Grand Theft Auto: Reality City (GTA:RC) is the final computer and video game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Designed by Rockstar North (formerly Jack Thompson Design) and published by Rockstar Games, it debuted in North Africa on October 27, 2019 for the PlayStation 5 and quickly became the WORST-selling video game for that year, and of all time.
As of July 2018, Reality City was the best-selling PlayStation 5 game of all time, in the Canadian market, only to be surpassed by Grand Theft Auto: Fantasy City, the succeeding Grand Theft Auto game.
Reality City also appeared on the North Vietnamese magazine Famitsukongfuchimachufungdai's readers' list of all-time worst 100 videogames ever allowed into the country of North Vietnam and placed 2nd worst of all time next to Pong 13: 12th Revenge of Pong. Following this incredible failacy of a test-release, Reality City saw minor distribution in Europe, Australia and Japan, and eventually became available on the PC (Personal Computer). Rockstar also packaged the game with its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto: Vatacin City, and sold it as Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack for the Xbox-1080.
It uses a tweaked version of the game engine used in Grand Theft Auto III and similarly presents a huge cityscape, fully populated with buildings (from hotels to skyscrapers), vehicles (cars, motorcycles, boats, helicopters, and planes) and people to explore.
The game is also revisited in a special addition add-on release called, Grand Theft Auto: Reality City Stories, which serves as a concurrent prequel to events in Reality City. This release was haulted after the 3rd month of production due to a -3,057% drop in aggregate sales relative to the count sold on the original release.
