- @Gale5050: All admins (and bureaucrats) actually do have checkuser rights. For some reason or other some administrators were granted specific checkuser-roles, which actually meant and did nothing as the administrator-role already comes with the checkuser rights - these roles were removed earlier today once that was realized. Sorry for causing some confusion regarding that on my talkpage. Zzz

Hopefully I can clear this up: there is a page on here called Special:UserGroupRights. This lists every specific right (ability) that each group (like admins, bureaucrats, etc) has. The "checkuser" right is inherent to all administrators and sysadmins, so they do not need the "check user" group, considering they already have those rights from being administrators or sysadmins. The "check user" group (listed here) is for people entrusted with the checkuser right but who are not administrators nor sysadmins. Hopefully that makes sense, let me know if not. —
