UnTunes:Bobby Brown Goes Down (PMRC Edition) [edit source]
Seriously, I want an UnTunes review. I mostly want to know if anybody who knows nothing about Frank Zappa's censorship battles will find this funny. - UnIdiot | | Talk | Contribs - 00:31, Sep 16
Humour: | 8 | The censored lyrics are pretty damn funny, the audio is also well-done, primarily through the fact that it isn't well done. It conveys the nature of the censorship (rushed and legalistic) well |
Concept: | 9 | Whilst not anything remarkably new, it hasn't really been done too well in the past, and your choice of artist works well. The audio works well in this regard |
Prose and formatting: | 10 | You can't go wrong having merely molested the original song. Again, the audio is very well done, and works nicely. |
Images: | 9 | You could probably censor the image a bit to get a bit more of the gag going, but it works as is. |
Miscellaneous: | 8.5 | All up, pretty much brilliant, although, not sure as to how it would appeal to those not familiar with the Music industry, or Zappa in particular. |
Final Score: | 44.5 | All in all, a very good attempt, well above the quality of some of the other UnTunes about. The addition of the audio really assists in creating the sense of incompetent censors, and the special work on the lyrics adds some intrigue for those not familiar with the original song. |
