Uncyclopedia, Wikiland — Earlier this week the Uncyclomedia Foundation reached a significant new milestone: on Sunday, 10:57, 30 March 2008 (UTC) the official deleted article count for all Uncyclopedias combined reached 10 billion. The ten billionth deleted article, a news article covering how Uncyclopedia has reached the milestone of 10 billion articles in all its languages, was written on Sunday, 10:57, 30 March 2008 (UTC) and deleted 27 seconds later.
Uncyclopedia now boasts deleted articles in more than 7000 languages (many of them fictional), with the English Uncyclopedia having the largest number, followed in descending order by the Japanese, Esperanto, Newspeak, Klingon, Anglo-Saxon, Venetian, Morse Code, Gibberish, Egyptian, and ENGLISH, BUT LOUDER Uncyclopedias. The project is also experiencing widespread shrinkage in many other Uncyclopedias.
Oscar Wilde, illustrious man-about-town, and founder of Uncyclopedia and the Uncyclomedia Foundation, remarked on the occasion of this milestone:
“ | I had no idea there were so many people with so much spare time. It's quite depressing, really. At least they didn't waste their time on something boring, like Wikipedia. | ” |
Uncyclopedia is a project of the Uncyclomedia Foundation, an uncharitable, unprofitable organization based in Wikiland.
