SLUM, India -- It is hard to tell whether Earth Hour had reached the slums of India or not since they don't really have any lights to turn off or even a clock to tell the time with, but we at UnNews won't stand for maybes or maybe nots. You know you've read it here first - exclusively on UnNews - that The Time Zone of Death has in fact reached Delhi and beyond.
It started with smoke rising from the east: a common occurance as young virgins are sacrificed each week to the divinity of the cows. However, this was no ordinary human-flesh smoke. It didn't have the usual smell of burnt hair; instead, it smelt of fear.
Suddenly, although no one knew because they didn't have a watch, it was 8:30 P.M.: The time of unnatural darkness. Candles went out, and things were stolen: a common occurance as pickpockets run rampant in these slums and houses made of corrugated iron tended to be pretty breezy. However, this was no ordinary stealing breeze. It wasn't the spirit of the Thief God. Instead, it was Earth Hour.
And that is why we at UnNews - your best up-to-the-microsecond news source - believe The Time Zone of Death has occurred in India.
