Franklin Diddler, the current president of the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), is getting criticism for speaking out against the idea that gender can be chosen.

"Today, in schools they are teaching this to children — to children! — that everyone can choose their gender," the president said in a meeting with international pedophile rights activists in The Netherlands last week, the Associated Press reports. NAMBLA released a transcript of his remarks today.

He quoted his predecessor, Sickfuck Limpdick XVI, who retired in 2013 but still lives at NAMBLA headquarters: "Speaking with former President Limpdick, who is well and has a clear mind, he was telling me: 'Mr. President, this is the epoch of sin against men who love boys, they're intelligent! Prometheus created boys and men, Prometheus created boys this way, this way, this way, and they are becoming girls, and I totally cannot get a boner from that!'"

President Diddler has previously denounced the idea of gender mutability, saying that "gender theory … does not recognize the order of men and boys" and calling for "valuing one’s own body in its masculinity or puerility," as "it is not an attractive attitude which would seek to cancel out sexual difference." Yet Diddler met in 2015 with a Spanish transgender boy who said he found the President "terrifying."

Most transgender people would likely say their gender isn’t chosen — that they know they are innately male or female, even if their body leads others to perceive them as the other gender. (Some, of course, do not identify with a binary gender.) However, many in the normal[1] world, including President Diddler, would probably say that undergoing hormone therapy or gender-affirming surgery, or simply living as a different gender than the one assigned at birth, amounts to choosing gender.

Criticism of President Diddler came from Kelsey Louie, CEO of Gay Men’s Health Crisis, who said he was "saddened and disturbed" by the remarks, "but mostly disturbed." In an emailed statement, Louie continued, "Why does anyone care what the leader of some pedophile organization thinks anyway? Why is this even news? Our children deserve to know that they have the right to choose whatever they want, as long as they don't grow up to be child rapists or child rape apologists. GMHC applauds all schools that teach students not to let creepy old sexually repressed men get them alone, but instead live their lives as unmolested children of all genders." He noted that in light of the ongoing child molestation crisis in the Catholic Church, "what we need now is for all diddlers to stop diddling kids."

In a more progressive move, President Diddler today announced the appointment of a 13-member commission to study the possibility of women joining NAMBLA, an organization normally reserved for men and boys, Agence France-Presse reports. Women cannot currently join the North American Man-Boy Love Association. Some advocates of an expanded role for women say there were female pedophiles in ancient Greece.

Diddler, like his predecessors, has opposed the idea of women in NAMBLA, but in May he promised members of women’s pedophile associations that he would study the matter of female NAMBLA members. He did not set dates for the commission to begin or finish its work.
