HIALEAH GARDENS, Florida -- Soon-to-be NBA free agents LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade reportedly met at a Chili's restaurant roughly 12 miles from Miami International Airport to discuss, among other things, potential candidates for the 2012 presidential election, the World Cup, and how much moolah they could possibly get from various NBA teams.
Witnesses, namely Chili's hostess Lauren Wilson, reported that for a threesome of potential multimillionaires, the group was surprisingly frugal, sharing a hot spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. Upon finishing the appetizers, James ordered the Classic Bacon Burger, while Wade and Bosh opted for the baby back ribs.
Miami Heat fan Zach Waters, who was sitting in a booth parallel to James, Bosh, and Wade, recorded their conversation using his phone. "I was kind of surprised," he said, "these guys are superstars. I figured they'd go to Shula's Steakhouse or some South Beach club. And they barely discussed the NBA."
According to Waters, the only business discussion ended in laughter when James, Bosh and Wade all agreed that "there was no way that any of them would sign with the Clippers."
