The Pointlessness (band)
“I had sex with the lead singer once.”
The Pointlessness is a gothic metal band from the Neverlands. The band was founded during the 1800s as a secret organization, in 1994 the current band released their first studio album. They are renowned for their eccentric music style. The band's debut album The Pointlessness gained them worldwide fame. Their international success continued with the 2000 album Redundancy and the 2004 album I Hate Everything. A fourth album was planned to be released in 2008 but has been in development hell since 2006. The lead singer, known only as Jack the Ripper, was quoted saying "We haven't been able to come up with much motivation to put effort into such a pointless thing."[1] Among some of their most famous songs are "The Pointlessness", "Gay Sex", "I Will Kill You", "Bring Me to the Darkness" and "Ultimate Annihilation".
History[edit | edit source]
The band originated out of a secret society led by a group of obscure figures who performed mysterious rituals to captivate the organization's members. Those rituals were commonly accompanied by entrancing music. Thus the band was formed.
Style[edit | edit source]
The Pointlessness' music style is known for its repetitiveness. Most lyrics of their songs consist out of the title repeated several times. Performances[edit | edit source]
The Pointlessness are, among other things, notorious for their bizarre way of performing. Huge masses of fans enter a massive room and all doors are shut and locked when the show begins. During the performance, everything is completely shrouded in darkness. This way the band can kidnap fans without anybody noticing. The fans are to be used in a variety of experiments like anal elasticity and endurance of Carrot Top's comedy act. People that disappear are considered "chosen ones", they are granted the honour to learn the secrets of the darkness. The rest are sent home with cookies and a carton of milk at the end of the show.
