Your comprehensive guide to Templates on Uncyclopedia.

You can use the code from these examples to learn how to make your own templates. Pay special attention to collapsibility.

Navigation Templates

Navigational templates are the best way to link related content on the wiki. Notice there is usually a set of links coded in the menu bar of each template to make editing it convenient. These were set up by the master bater templater, so please do not alter them unless you know what you are doing.

We suggest using the collapsible menu bars so that your templates are less obtrusive. This is especially important if your template has a shit ton of links or is obnoxiously ugly.

You can use css to style your templates if you choose unique class and ID names. Sometimes this makes the code less cluttered and sometimes it makes it more complicated to understand when making modifications, so be careful!

{{A/L}} can help you color the links, which is not really recommended except in cases of legibility.

  • {{Philosophy}} uses {{A/Box}} - the officially recommended way to structure your navigational templates. It also uses {{center}} to center the top links, {{A/c}} for textflow columns (which are not backwards compatible), and the {{A|HI}} utility template for hanging indents.
  • {{Philosophical Badasses}} has a more complicated layout. You have to do math to figure out the margin width on the header, the menu links have been moved using {{A/M}}, and it is not hideable!

  • {{Doctor}} uses the extra divs and custom styles for those fancy borders we love so much!
