Talk:The Free World

Cheers for all the additions, Hindleyite. I thought that it would be good to make this one really satirical - so instead of making the "Free World" be a fantastical place, I think it works well if it is actually a slightly exagerated version of the world we live in now, contrasting against a fantastical "Expensive world" where everything is wonderful. I think there's a good political angle in that too. So I tried to keep everything you added, but tweaked it to make it reality rather than fantasy - and I think it goes well like in the new version. --Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy (Bleat) 05:26, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Excellent! I'm not sure about the thing I wrote about the car, though. What do you reckon? -- Hindleyite 16:41, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
I like the idea of a car just kind of appearing into the world and the reactions it causes. I think I can rework it into a kind of Berlin Wall/DMZ type of skit about this huge borderline between the two worlds, and then have the car thing as a kind of loop into another level. I've just been having some fun with Mithun Chakraborty btw - and it's no longer factual, imho. --Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy (Bleat) 16:54, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Lemonade?[edit source]

Do you like Lemonade?

Only the kind without lemons. --Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy (Bleat) 10:25, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Strawberry Lemonade rocks dude! -- Hindleyite 12:01, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Fo' Shizzle.

Images[edit source]

This needs one or two really good images - and I am currently stumped. Any ideas? --Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy (Bleat) 10:26, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Weeeell, I've been contemplating this for a while. I thought perhaps an image of a globe in some sort of commercial packaging might work well, or a 'shopped image of a house made from AOL disks. -- Hindleyite 12:05, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Both of those sound good. Please go for it if you have the time/inclination. I got one image of all these advertising signs from Hong Kong, and I thought of superimposing them over a scene of some old lady drinking tea in a garden.--Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy (Bleat) 08:32, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

From Pee Review[edit source]

Well, I am reasonably happy with this - but is anyone else ... ? --Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy (Bleat) 10:36, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

  • I've been watching you write this one and have been enjoying it tremendously. But then I'm for anything that gives the US implementation of "Democracy/Capitalism" (wherever one begins and the other ends) a well deserved bite in the ass. It could probably be tightened in places, but I'm not sure where. It could be that I've read it too many times and am losing objectivity, but it's all very tasty to me. ~ T. Some funnier pictures wouldn't go amiss. Like maybe a picture of someone with iPod, cocktail, hairstyle and trainers, ready to make friends.--Nydas 17:59, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Cheers for that. Yes, I got satirical with this one. Blame Chomsky. He's giving me a free volkswagen bus for doing this. I asked him for some funny images too, but he told me not to push it. --Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy - (Ring for service) 15:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Come to think of it, there's probably been enough free advertising for iPods anyway.--Nydas 17:32, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I really enjoyed reading this article. I cannot think of any useful input that might improve it, personally I think it is great as it is now. Nice one. Dutchy 10:29, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Cheers - now that's the kind of review I like! --Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy - (Ring for service) 15:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Left wingy... It's definitely not my favorite kind of humour, but it's well-written indeed, so congrats. Care if I add the template 'written by a communist' just as little counter-argumentation? For the sake of irony? Hay, people, what are those stones in your hands for??? herr doktor needsAbeam Rocket.gif [scream!] 19:49, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Ooh, political commentary ... I've never had that before. I agree that it's not exactly supporting the system, but I don't take that to mean that it is automatically "left wing" or something. I don't offer solutions here - and I live in an ex-communist state, so I've seen first hand the kind of damage that Communism can do, which makes me very angry, so I am about as anti-Communist as you can get...
Cheers to Todd for the nom - it's on VFH now, so the real shark-fest can begin. --Sir Hardwick Fundlebuggy - (Ring for service) 20:09, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
