Hey, what heppened to the "Standards Plummet" "Further Decline in Standards" and "Standards Eliminated" headings? I liked those. They were funny! --Nerd42 15:32, 1 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Ok. All people sick of this fight on the oscars please post here. I want to know why everyone is undoing and redoing all changes.. --LofA14
- While I respect Master Tourniquet's right to undo what he wishes upon his article, perhaps he should first know that The Guardian named Christian Bale as one of the best actors never to have received an Academy Award nomination.[1]. That's my only piece, of which I have not bothered him with since. As far as I can see the main problem with people's edits (possibly including my own) is that they come across as overly POV, even though the original article strays dangerously close to it. That's all. I think this is the biggest edit I've made in weeks.

All I want to do is to add a few more movies to the list of Best Pictures. Some of my comments were more random than personal. --LofA14
- Christian Bale is adequate at best, but that's not the main problem with the edit in question. The most important principle for keeping the article viable and making sure the experience of reading is the best it can be is internal consistency. The article is not perilously close to POV, it is belligerently extreme POV, and that is the point. But the POV must be kept consistent, whatever it is. Perhaps some of the recent edits by User:LofA14 did not violate this, but many of them did, and I was too lazy to be more critical and I just zapped them all. Read the other edits in the history carefully and read the surrounding text, and look through the history of all of the additions. You will find that many have been kept - not because *I* agree with them, but because they don't cause internal inconsistency. Feel free to put back any of them that you can confidently say after reading the article carefully that they do not violate the consistency of the voice of it. That's all I ask. As for the Christian Bale edit, you will notice if you read carefully that the list has to be kept at 6 unless you change the other reference and the other (lousy winners) list. If he had ever won one though, in my view he would belong on the lousy winners list. -- 07:25, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

I'm happy now. Although some films that won best picture are decent, I absolutely despise American Beauty.--LofA14
