HowTo talk:Write An Article That Stands No Chance Of Featuring On Uncyclopedia

You asked if I could come round with some ideas...
I don't want to wade in there, but I thought that the long quotes at the end looked a little off, also the plugging (a lot) of your own articles is probably a weak point (perhaps some of mine...). I would also bring in the moronic comments by some user about how they "Don't get it". It would be better (in my personal view) to concentrate on articles that need lots of whoring goodness. Some of the formatting looks a little off, the quote bit seems to drag a little. It's perhaps too obvious a target – I would focus on article concepts and themes rather than grammatical error (My awful typo ridden articles have been featured). The first section could trail into listyness without warning, it’s generally/probably/ better to keep it prose.
I would try and make a clearer point... Do you A. want to make a stab at articles that are essentially un PC and offensive and/or articles that are poor or B. Article that are fucking awesome that get voted against by those (yanks/14 year olds) who "don't get it". I would focus on one particular type of article, and I would choose the latter because of voting habits/trends that happen on VFH.
The images are alright, depending on what your going for - as you might guess I would not use the Iraqi one, but it does fit in with what your going for there.
Overall, the in-joke element/theme is fine in my opinion because of the relevance it has to all the users on the site; however, I think that if I were to write it from here, I would change it so that it made a bit more of a biting satire/parody of the low lights of the actual VFH rather than the articles. Any comments Prose/Formatting would be pointless as I steal from yours.
If there’s anything else, just leave a note, I hope I've helped:)--Sycamore (Talk) 22:41, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- I'm quite happy with the flow of it, but think that its lacking something right at the end, almost like there's an extra section waiting to be added after the "Proper Use of Quotations" section. I'm thinking something along the lines of a Conclusion, or even In Conclusion. -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)
