GameMaker
GameMaker is a series of game engines made in hell by Satan. (not to be confused with RPGMaker). GameMaker uses GML as it's programming language, focused on making 2D games.
The program was first released 150 BC under the name of Gehen. The first versions of the program were being developed with sticks and stones, Subsequent releases saw the name changed to GameMaker and software moving towards more advanced technology, which it still uses today.
History[edit | edit source]
Ancient Times[edit | edit source]
The program was first found back in 150 BC. We won’t be telling you the name this time just because you’re too lazy to read just above this. The next iteration was created 2 days after the passing of Jesus, known as “ReturnMaker”. It used to be believed that this was the original version, until the British museum got raided by Batswana pirates. This iteration was made entirely out of bread and wine, which meant it rotted quickly, and had to be fossilized with holy water.
Medieval Times[edit | edit source]
Another program of this was created by the sultan of the Ottoman Empire called “GameCreator” in order to entertain his people by creating epic games. Due to financial shortfalls, the program was discontinued, leading to widespread rebellions, and the creation of a Greek state.
Modern Times[edit | edit source]
The creation of the GameMaker we all know and “love” was invented in 1955 by Gertrude GameMaker Gersonic. The scripting was still rudimentary, but it was juuuust good enough for people to make some crazy stuff with it, and it surged in popularity until it became the icon it is today.
GML Visual[edit | edit source]
GML Visual is GameMaker's famously limited visual scripting tool, with the target audience of lazy developers and babies, GML Visual allows developers to create and delete objects, change variables, change sprites, and not much else.
GameMaker Language[edit | edit source]
GameMaker Language (GML). It is a imperative, dynamically typed language, commonly liked to castration and similar torture methods. Functions such as instance_create(), instance_destroy(), demon_spawn(), and end_life() are common functions used in GameMaker games.
Partnerships[edit | edit source]
A special Daniel Tiger version of the program was released because of his reign, it introduced a brand new feature, where you could have a mini Daniel give you coding tips, commonly compared to Clippy and Bonzi Buddy. The version has been discontinued because of the recent allegations against Daniel.
Another special version, made to create programs for Fox was made around 2009, so people could submit their own games to be made into TV shows. This is how we got GingerBrawl, a show about gingerbread creations battling it out for Milk.
