One of the most significant problems about Uncyclopedia is its non-free licensing. CC BY-NC-SA 2.0, most notably the NC part, can be a signifiant trouble-maker under many circumstances; this is especially true when templates are imported from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0. I would strongly suggest dual-licensing Uncyclopedia's content under both these licenses by default, permitting one or another depending on imports; this will fix many of the problems we have here on Uncyclopedia and will decrease our liability to copyright law.

Instead of holding a vote, let's just discuss.  Cassandra  (talk) 10:51, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

Can you please provide a little more detail for those of us who aren't familiar with these licenses and terms? Thanks. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 20:22, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
CC BY-SA enables commercial use; CC BY-NC-SA does not enable commercial use. BY means "giving attribution", and SA means "share-alike", so "maintaining the same license". The different versions aren't really relevant for our purposes here at Uncyc...  Cassandra  (talk) 21:04, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
i.e, BY means stating that the content was made "by" a specific person. JJPMaster 21:09, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

So, we are currently using a non-free non-commercial license? MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 17:45, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
