Forum:Nonsense for a point
Oops, you seem to have developed a malignant dogma concerning nonsense prose, completely disregarding very important schools of writing that have occured in the last hundred years or so that have shaped our sense of prose and opened up new horizons, many of which we take for granted today.
We, the essayist in plural 1st person, understand that while some nonsense is just drivel, other nonsense makes a whole lot of sense.
Which brings me to the point of why we (me) are (is) here, and why you (you) are reading this.
It's this:
We have written an article - a mere recipe done as part of an experimental writing workshop (a ten minute piece) - and believed that it held some merit for publishing on your trusted and dear website. The constraint of the assignment was to take a non-literary form (that would be our recipe) and, using the text as a material, rework it. Which we did. We're good little boys and the teacher will give us a gold star, or at least a brown one.
Now, we're not saying it's the funniest piece ever, in fact we feel we have written better, don't we? And yet to see that it is marked for deletion for the simple fact that the moderator does not understand the art - indeed at this juncture in history the tradition - that has gone into it upsets us dearly my dearie-o's. Yes it does.
So our question would have to be this: is there room upon your munificent website for pieces that are skilfully crafted in less conventional ways? Is there room for less mainstream forms of expression, or are they to be stamped out like the embers upon Stalin's rug when he's accidentally dropped his cigar after hearing some bad news?
Oh, by the way, if we must reveal it, the article is this: UnBooks:Cookbook/Basic Pancakes with sugar and lemon. Not the greatest piece but neverless an ample addition to your witheringly sparse cookbook. Actually, we kind of like it as it is, with the moderators mundane reproach, followed by our reproach of the reproach, but I guess your protocol won't allow you to leave a warning ad infinitum on a page. You Maoist slag.

Tis good indeed aye. I think the humour comes from the nonsense and obviously wouldn't work if it were coherent. The reason it works being that Delia is a well renowned chef and incredibly organised in her kitchen. I like the way in the ingredients it says "any sort of a whisk even a fork" and then repeats it as part of a sentence in the recipe guide... It's structured nonsense rather than banal nonsense.
