I'm writing this message from my Android phone and what really ticks me off is that the entire website seems to be desktop-friendly with no consideration for users with mobile devices. Research shows that websites optimized for mobile devices (especially tablets) create better viewer conversion than sites poorly designed for mobile. And it looks like we're short on money, according to the donation page. (A simple solution to that would be to run ads.)
The solution: We have to make our skin responsive. Anyone who would like to suggest stuff or test design changes, great.
Here's a well-crafted responsive website: http://www.qz.com/ 01:48, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- @Cute Zekrom: I agree with you. It must be better than the Wikia and Wikipedia mobile sites, though. You can't even edit in those layouts! ~[ths] UotM 02:45, 04/14/2013
- If you hit "Mobile view" at the bottom, you go to a much nicer mobile layout. WMF engineers are working on mobile editing and stuff (mw:Extension:MobileFrontend), so it's not really worth our time to try and come up with something ourselves... Legoktm (talk) 03:03, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
