Forum:Main Page
This notice is generally to Rcmurphy and Algorithm, because you guys are the ones who seem to look after the front page (note that other admins and user's feedback is appreciated), and I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia were redesigning their Main Page, and so I thought we should too. I worked up a draft (i.e. a rip) right here for the world to enjoy. It's more or less finished, except some of the languages are a bit messed up and the Featured Image is a bit... Meh. It may be worth noting that instead of putting featured images on a random template, a "Picture of the Day" system could be implemented like the old days as opposed to causing yourselves stress with converting the images into the new format. I did post this on the VD before, but all the SILLY ADMIN BICKERING which can now be found here hid it among big words and long paragraphs. When I did post it though, a couple of members noticed, and other versions of the main page can be found here, here, here and here. I expect that in time there will be more drafts, so I suppose when Wikipedia becomes closed for voting (February 18th I believe) we can have a vote on it. --officer designate

- I think we should wait and see how Wikipedia redesigns their Main Page and then we copy it at our style, seen as we do a direct satire of their system. Implementing a Main Page skin that does not remind one of Wikipedia's would not be ironic, and people wouldn't associate both sites as easily.
