There was a question of whether the Korean-language 백괴사전 ("before hundred dying mysteriously") wiki at wiki.peremen.name was part of this project. The short answer is "no", the slightly-longer answer is "hell no!"

According to [1], Peremen most strongly wants 백괴사전 to have nothing to do with Uncyclopedia. He explictly does not agree with Uncyclopedia's free license (as CC-BY-NC-SA would not allow commercial uses, such as for-profit book publishing) and he feels that having anything to do with us would come at the price of having English-language culture and Oscar Wilde forced upon an unsuspecting Korea. Cultural imperialism!

He also would prefer to have nothing to do with Wikia [2] as their platform is inflexible compared to an independent site at which he can install software and extensions at will.

So what does he think of "the concept-free encyclopedia" [3]? Not much, as he's gone as far as to remove [4] uncyclopedia: from the interwiki table [5] entirely in protest.

Meanwhile, much of the content is translated from Uncyclopedia, posted under an incompatible (commercial) licence. This was done without any attribution and all links back here[6] removed.

Admittedly, Babelfish is ugly when it comes to attempting to translate Korean. Nonetheless, to say that he isn't aware of the issue is naïve if he's going language-by-language through the list of Uncyclopedia languages and listing the license for each.

I realise that the ko: interwiki, at least if used on Desciclopédia, points over there (with evidently no reciprocal links back). That's entirely the decision of the Desciclopédian sysops to make - they're non-Wikia, so of course they control their own wiki's interwiki table. And no, it's not as if we had much (if any) content in this language here - just a few pages, perhaps.

Still, if Peremen doesn't want to have anything to do with Uncyclopedia, maybe we should not consider interwiki-linking there from here.

No, he's not ED and he's not been serving our webhosts with DMCA notices claiming ownership of random ligætures, er, ligatures but if he wants to distance himself from us, then by all means lets go our separate ways. --(stamp added later:) 66.102.74.123 21:42, 23 December 2006

Done this just "for him" or for convenience. Can anyone check if the claim is valid? --HelpTheCowArd 23:08, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Well one advantage of wikia hosting/owning us, is that wikia has a lawyer. If they're taking content and putting it under an incompatible licence (and with the intention of publishing a for-profit book?), and intentionally not linking back here or attributing it, that's pretty much stealing. Perhaps we should send the lawyer after them?
If they hate uncyclopedia that much, let them write their own wiki, I say! Spang talk 23:14, 23 Dec 2006
I agree with Spang. If they want to run a wiki with a similar concept to Uncyclopedia, they have our blessing, but some people have trouble with the concept that just because we aren't charging for our humor that doesn't mean we can't claim ownership of it. This is something that should be brought to the attention of Wikia, and they can worry about fixing it.  ;)--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 23:33, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
