Alex Warren
Alex Warren (born September 18, 2000) is an American singer-songwriter and TikToker. He is one of the few people who got out of the Hype House and somehow managing to make a successful music career, the other being Addison Rae. While Rae would copy Charli XCX in her music career, Warren decided to rip off Ed Sheeran of all people. However, none of their voices sound alike. Warren's voice is deeper compared to the OG creator of all cliched songwriter music.
We're not going to dive deep into his early life because we're not going to sound disrespectful throughout. We all know his father passed away. So, we're going to dive deep into his two separate careers and see how they stack up.
Career[edit | edit source]
2020-present: TikTok career[edit | edit source]
In 2020, Warren joined TikTok. He was known for promoting candies like Airheads. He even did a trend based on them, which is somehow safe than any other TikTok trend out there. Afterwards he left the Hype House. Despite this, he still uses TikTok to his advantage while promoting his music. Every single musical artist has at least a TikTok account, so he successfully managed to keep hold of it.
2021-present: Music career[edit | edit source]
Warren would sign to the same label as the artist he's trying to rip off in August 2022. He would release the song "Extraordinary", which was released in February 2025. For some reason, that song ended up popping off all over not just TikTok, but on Instagram and YouTube. You may have heard this song on the radio more than once. Eventually, that song ended up being 2025's song of the summer, even beating out his predecessor's songs. However, almost no one liked the song. He and Ed supposedly are trying to bring back the trend of songwriter-singers playing the guitar or whatever instrument on stage while having the most cheesiest love songs ever made. Even though it did have a big impact, no one thinks it's going to be a classic, really.
This would later go on to influence another artist from across the pond, Myles Smith, who is basically Warren if he was black and British. Their voices sound similar as well.
Comparing and contrasting[edit | edit source]
When you think about Warren versus every single singer who has made soft pop music with an acoustic guitar, sometimes with live loops and cliched love song lyrics, he is by all means one of them. He obviously has tattoos, which is what almost every single one of these artists has, at least 75% of them. Not only that, but he plays the guitar, has made a love song gone viral on TikTok and much worse. There are other artists like Shawn Mendes, Calum Scott, Lewis Capaldi and others who are trying to do the same formula that Ed created. The solution is: run away from your home, play on the streets, sell out multiple arenas and stadiums, have at least one song reach 1 billion streams on Spotify, or one billion views on YouTube, and even trying to be funny on social media. But then again, not all artists are like that. So take that if you will.
If you haven't noticed by now, Ed's entire music career was a mistake. He may be the god of the entire world, but he has created an entire genre of singer-songwriters with all these traits. He can never be stopped. He's too powerful. And it just gets worse. And worse.
