Welcome![edit source]

WELCOME!
I'm sure you will like it here!

Hello, Jduley evil twin of apage, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. You seem to have a sense of humor, but to be sure that it corresponds to the kind of humor that is accepted on this site, I suggest checking out the following links:

 • Beginner's Guide - A massive guide about how to be the best you can be at Uncyclopedia. I've honestly never read the whole thing in one sitting myself, but it is very useful if you're looking for help on a specific issue.
 • How to be funny and not just stupid - Our flagship link. This will tell you how to not get booed off the metaphorical stage that is Uncyclopedia. I STRONGLY suggest reading the entire thing through, perhaps more than once.
 • Our Vanity Policies - This page details why we don't care about your friends, your school, your gay fourth period math teacher, or the homework he has you do, and in-jokes. DO NOT violate this policy.
 • Uncyclopedia:Best of - For a bit of inspiration. These are our featured articles. This is the kind of stuff we like to read around here.

Now that that's out of the way, just look down and you'll notice some more links. These ones are about help in general:

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but I do recommend it, it can be quite enjoyable, and it's a good chance to let others take notice of your writing. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Jduley evil twin of apage/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - construction - onto it as well.

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian, and remember: Have fun with it. We're all here to have a good time and a good laugh. Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (button_sig.png) above the edit box. Again, welcome!

I have to ask, are you into cycling then? Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb.png kvetch Icon rabbi.gif Contribs Foxicon.png FOXES 13:20, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Cycling[edit source]

I hope to never reach an age where I am too old to ride a bike, and I know one cyclist who is 86, so at my relatively youthful age of 34 I've got a few years ahead of me yet. Incidentally, by bike has 27 gears. It's got disc brakes too, an 8 inch wide one at the front end and 6 inch on the back wheel - the logic of being thus equipped becomes apparent when downhilling at 40mph +. I still use old ladies as a braking method from time to time though, in honour of the generations of cyclists to have come before me. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb.png kvetch Icon rabbi.gif Contribs Foxicon.png FOXES 13:15, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Images[edit source]

On the left of your screen, you'll see an Upload image/file link. Click that and follow the prompts - make sure your image isn't a .bmp, Uncyc doesn't support 'em. Most people use .jpg or .png - .jpg is best as it compresses the file more and thus uses less server space. Once it's uploaded, you'll see the image along with the filename. To insert it into your article, use or if you want the image to appear on the left, so it should look something like this - , or vaguely so at least. I'll have a look at your article in a bit, once I've finished writing the UnNews report I'm working on. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb.png kvetch Icon rabbi.gif Contribs Foxicon.png FOXES 14:19, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Is that working for you? Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb.png kvetch Icon rabbi.gif Contribs Foxicon.png FOXES 12:08, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Right, the whoops thingies are done on Godwin's and Goddard's - you do those like this: name of alternative article. To make a link to a section of another article, rather than putting Goddard's Law or Goddard you'll need to copy and paste the address of the desired section and use that, with single square brackets instead of double. Like this - weak Godwin's Law, which will give you this link; noting that you don't use the | like you do in a normal link. To add it to a category, use . Right, I'm going to have a proper look at the article now. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb.png kvetch Icon rabbi.gif Contribs Foxicon.png FOXES 12:21, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Australia[edit source]

It's sorted. The problem seems to come from TomMayfair's Marree Men template - whenever anyone tries to centre it, using the correct

code (and how it pains me to spell 'center' in the American fashion) for some reason or another the closing part -
- doesn't work. Knowing Tom to be pretty handy when it comes to wikicode, I can only assume there's good reason for this. Nice changes to the article, by the way. Purim[edit source]

Mad Mike "Moishe" Tyson does it, so you should too!

Yes - it's Purim already, so be like
Mike and eat some ears today!

It's the only time of year when being a Jew is fun!

OK, I know you're not Jewish, but any excuse for a piss-up is worthy. :-)

Bundoora[edit source]

Not entirely sure what you mean. If you mean you want to create a new page called Bundoora, the easiest thing would be to just rewrite the existing one. If you want that one huffed, add it to QVFD, mentioning 'request by author.' Lists are permissable so long as they have funny content, ie; each entry has a little information rather than it just being something like this:

 1. Your Mum
 2. Your Dad
 3. Your sister
 4. Your gerbil

and suchlike. Hope that's ok - message me again if it doesn't clear things up. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb.png kvetch Icon rabbi.gif Contribs Foxicon.png FOXES 08:12, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

You need to stop smoking so many penguins, they're not good for you. Your best solution is, as you say, to copy and paste the content of Bundoora into a new page entitiled British comedians - the name's free, I just checked - and then put Bundoora on QVFD with the usual 'request by author' suffix. Is that what you want to do? If I was certain, I'd do it for you now but as I'm not I'll leave it to you. :-) Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb.png kvetch Icon rabbi.gif Contribs Foxicon.png FOXES 11:35, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Spelling it out a little more: don't blank the page and replace with QVFD - that does nothing. Go to the QVFD page, edit the current day's section, and list it there the same way the others are, with a little comment beside it saying "author request". Because I can see what you want, I'll delete it this time, this is just a tip for next time! --UU - natter UU Manhole.gif 13:26, Mar 12

Friendly hint from a cuddly furry thing...[edit source]

If you do wish to comment on the contents of an article, don't do it on the article's pee review talk page, do it on the article's talk page, which is where it should belong. The medical data can be of use later on, but until then, I'm trying to flesh out the article from the point of view of someone who doesn't know the medical lingo ;)

I haven't tried going through caffeine withdrawal on a massive level, since I don't need to. The tough bit was changing from the stuff I was on before to a 100% organic blend, that gave me a two day headache before it eased out and got better again. That's the inspiration for the cold turkey article, I was thinking about how it would feel to go on like that for a month. And I've watched too much House ;) -- Luverly - (Contribs) (Talk) Heart anim.gif Brainwashed to be British and then some. Certifiably MORE British than You.
