Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (unofficially known as Sonic 4) is a game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series released in 2008. It is a standard side-scrolling game, and a direct sequel to the original Sonic games for the Sega Genesis and Game Gear. Unlike the previous Sonic games, where you played as either Sonic, Tails or Knuckles the Echidna, this game lets you play as every single character in the Sonic series. This has resulted in viewers condemning various portions of the game as "idiotically slow", and led to criticism over the 10 disks required to play the game on any system it was available for.
