There'll Always Be An England?[edit source]

Humour: 9 A very amusing article indeed. The characterisation is brilliant and they all really do come to life. Love the little details as well. 'Nuffeild' as the Maths teacher for example. I'll just point out a couple of slight things from my perspective:

'If their parents could have afforded the £25,000...'. I think the word 'afforded' takes the humour out here. Maybe it could have been, 'If their parents would have had the foresight to invest the £25,000...'.

'A lot of them are from China and Africa and other deprived parts of the world. Belgium, Wales, that sort of place.' Including Wales here is funny, but the joke gets lost as its in the second sentence.

Could it not be simply 'A lot of them are from China, Africa and Wales and other deprived parts of the world.'

Concept: 8 The concept of having the different viewpoints works really well and means the reader does not grow bored, even with the long length of the article. It's not really encyclopedic in tone, and can't be seen as a parody therefore - but it doesn't pretend to be.

Whilst I've rightfully praised the charaterisation, they all do conform to stereotypes. I guess that this is the point though. The fact that NBC have come to England and the characters conform to these expected behaviours.

Prose and formatting: 10 Great use of language here which brings each of the narrator's characters to life. The Chaplin's natural wandering style for example, becomes all the more amusing as his excitement clearly grows into ferocious innuendo(?).

The science teacher finishing off with the sharper more natural use of language works well. HE I guess represents the more regular English experience.

'Twatfordshire' didn't work for me. Seemed a little 'easy' - did not match the subtle tone of the rest of the article.

Images: 8 There's no need for large images in this article, the words do the business here. But each image does add its own amusing joke in the caption which is welcome.
Miscellaneous: 5 Ehh...umm...eh...Well it's not really a Wikipedia parody.
Final Score: 40 This article is not only brilliantly funny, it actually builds an intriguing world for the reader to become interested in. The Epilogue rounds the whole thing off beautifully.
