Superdelegates[edit source]

I'm thinking it's time to take this sucker to VFH. What say you, the people?--<<Bradmonogram.png>>

I'll take a stab at it... --WesMan20 16:16, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Humour: 6 "superdelegates is an informal term for superheroes that get a special delegate vote during the primary season." Delegate is to superdelegate as Hero is to Superhero. I think that's a pretty hilarious comparison. The subject is funny, but the article itself elicited more chuckles from me than lol's. I had an lol moment with the comment about superdelegate's ability to vote twice due to their secret identities. Overall, it could be a bit punchier, I'm just not sure how to do it. Maybe more history, perhaps how Al Gore lost due to the superdelegate's dual voting, or how John Hinckley was a Superhero who used his secret identity to try to assassinate Reagan, and how that changed the rules, etc... I don't know. Those aren't that great, but you may see what I mean.
Concept: 7 The idea that superdelegates were once disenfranchised and were granted delegate status is quite funny. I think that's a predictable but still very solid (and funny) concept.
Prose and formatting: 7 I think it's written in the expected "encyclopedic" style you would expect of the equivalent "real" article of this nature. I put "real" in quotations because some people believe Superheroes don't actually exist. Only things I would add here is a Contents Box. The article is short, but it still would help the look of the article, as far as this being a parody of Wikipedia and all. I do feel like there's more that could be said to stretch it out, but I wouldn't force the issue.
Images: 8 I love it. Batman stands up for truth, justice and superdelegate voting rights. Only thing I might rework is the caption. The part about "he's black, like they usually are" doesn't really work for me. You could try reworking or changing that part, but I think just having "A well-known superdelegate." is enough. A straightforward caption is the perfect balance to an image that clearly says it all. Think Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon. Johnny's off the wall, McMahon is the straight man. Or Leslie Nielsen in any movie since Airplane. Things fall apart, but he stays straight.
Miscellaneous: 7 An average of the scores
Final Score: 35 I think it needs the slightest bit of work, but that's all. I dug it. Drop me a line if you want to curse me to hell for any criticisms.

Passing thought: what happened to the SuperVillainDelegates? --SirU.U.Esq. VFH | GUN | Natter | Uh oh | Pee 16:25, Mar 19

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. I've fixed the caption a bit (and welcome Under User to add a SuperVillainDelegates section if you want to... I can't come up with anything funny to go with that. It's a toughie.)--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 18:24, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
