Hyphenation[edit source]

Humour: 8 (Please don't put much weight on my number grades.)
Concept: 7 Clever concept by someone who's obviously been through the grammar mill. But it needs more development. The first take is on hyphen-nation as a nation (complete with map!) but not much is said about this. The rest of the article is a play on the rules of hyphenation...What happened to the country? Are there additional directions in which to take this? or can you say more about this country?
Ah, I see what you're saying. I had actually intended to imply that was the national code of law, but I'll see what I can do to make that clearer.
Prose and formatting: 7 Overusing hyphens in an article about hyphenation is clever. The list of rules is inside-baseball (as Bob Dole used to say). Referring to ASCII-2 is very inside-baseball. So are the references to editors and talk pages in the "warning" up at the top. Did you, too, move here from Wikipedia based on edicts such as the one that hyphenation needs to use a character not on anyone's keyboard?! If hyphens get too close to periods, is the result Morse Code? A rule that references itself (ad infinitum)--don't use that joke twice.
Well...I'm an admin at Wikipedia. I still live there. I just thought I'd contribute when I read the Dinosaur article and saw lots of redlinks. Is "inside-baseball" a bad thing? If so, I could find another way to say it. Bob the Wikipedian 20:49, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
"Inside baseball" might be a bad thing; I used it to mean parts of the article that might have only niche appeal. When writing a set of "laws," be careful to give them continual humor for readers beyond lovers of conundrums and students of character sets. Spıke ¬  22:33 14-Nov-09
Images: 8 The "map" and surrounding box add visual appeal. Further illustrations could be the anchor you need to flesh out this article further.
Good idea; I'll see what I can find. Bob the Wikipedian 20:49, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
