GUIdows[edit source]

A parody of how slow Aperture Science is with their software and their obsessiveness to integrate everything into GLaDOS. --NXWave 10:13, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

I don't know what GUIdows, Aperture Science, or GLaDOS are, so I'm going to review this. That's the risk you take, my friend. --  Le Cejak <-> 14:05, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Gah! Cajek! Stop picking the same articles to review as me at the same time as me! Edit conflict! Oh well, you've done a comprehensive job so I'll limit myself to a comment at the bottom. --Sir Under User (Hi, How Are You?) VFH KUN 15:27, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Humour: 5 avg'd all the sections.
  • Intro (5)

Quote (bad), parody (bad) of supposedly true information (good).

  • 1 Development (4)

Holy crap, what are you talking about? That went way over my head. I... I think I would scrap that section.

  • 2 Features (5)

Boring little introduction. Usually you shouldn't go for a straight intro, try to spice it up by... I don't understand computers so that one's yours.

  • 2.1 Graphical User Interface (5)

I really didn't understand what you were talking about. Slow down and get rid of those red links, si vous plait.

  • 2.2 GLaDOS Integration (9)

I actually thought that was pretty funny. I know what "windows" are, and you had a good explanation there. I could just imagine turning it on and it doing all the work for me.

  • 2.3 3D Aceleration (6)

The last sentence was pretty cool, and the rest was nearly adequate. You need to merge these sections together and just choose TWO things to cover instead of 9!

  • 2.4 Sound/GLaDOS Communication (5)

inadequate. I'm getting tired of this technobabble that I don't understand. I stupid.

  • 2.5 Aperture Productivity Suite™ (6)

nearly adequate. I would really just choose TWO things to talk about and this would be one of them, because you're actually talking about something people understand.

  • 2.6 Aperture Media Player™ (7)

adequate joke-age but still too much technobabble.

  • 2.7 Next-Gen Security (5)
  • 2.8 Aperture Internet Browser™ (5)
  • 2.9 Top of the Line Games (5)
  • 3 Comparison to Other Systems (5)
Concept: 4 Technology complicated. Me want simple jokes for ha ha.
Prose and formatting: 6 Spelling and grammar mistakes plus no break = bad.
Images: 0 No images. Please fix that.
Miscellaneous: 3.8 avg'd
Final Score: 18.8 Yeah, not that good. I don't get it, and neither will many other people, so... You had balls coming with your baby to pee review, so please don't give up.

Comment: game-related? Is this to do with Half Life? Whatever, it is extremely specialised, and will zoom over the vast majority of heads, I suspect. I consider myself something of a geek, and watched this whoosh over my head an splatter prettily against the wall. Honestly, it reads like yer average technical manual, and has precious little funny in it. I felt my eyes glaze over at one point. Honestly, trimming it a lot, and trying to open the content up to more readers would help. A link to the Wikipedia Half life article (the Aperture section) might help a little. Keep working on it, and good luck! --Sir Under User (Hi, How Are You?) VFH KUN 15:27, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Well actually it's based on the game Portal which is based around Aperture Science which is also based around the mystical device called the Aperture Handheld Portal Device. You're being nagged and told by this AI named GLaDOS who is a fully functioning Disk Operating System and Arguably Alive.
This article is a parody of how old and obsolete it is, GUIdows is basicly the modern day Windows 95. With mostly the same features and the same look. The article is parodying the fact that the GLaDOS was made in 1982 while GUIdows was made in 2000. Where technology has caught up quite a bit. --NXWave 20:25, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
