Humour:	5	Who is Why? You may know I like to talk about myself first just so you know how unqualified I am. I was Noob of the Month for September 2009 and was nommed this month for Review of the Month, which means that some people think I don't totally suck. I'm quite familiar with Baby Boomers, and once kept one as a pet (that's sort of true--long story). But of course my opinion is just my opinion, and you are certainly free to believe differently. I'm putting Prose and Formatting comments here so I don't end up repeating myself too much, but am scoring that and Humour separately. I'm dividing my comments into paragraphs that follow the same order as those in the article. Quotes There's an odd things about quotes at the beginning of an article--almost every Unc article has them and almost every featured article doesn't. These imply being a Baby Boomer is all about the Vietnam War, which it isn't, so personally I'd cut them. "A Baby-Boomer is...." Back in my journalism school days, they said NEVER write a first sentence that's long, and almost never make any sentence more than 25 words if you want people to read it. It's like people waiting for the front page of a website to load--if the wait's too long they're gone. Also pre-Victorian I don't get. "The main significance...." I rather like this in general, especially the teens aren't forced (although I think you could make a joke about that) and "sacrificial son." I think "blood-lusting" would be better if it sounded ironically negative instead of obviously negative. To me, the CAPS do not ADD ANYTHING to this PARAGRAPH. "Baby Boomers were fed up with their parent's (parents')...." Italics are often used here for quotes--but like, get laid....--who's being quoted? I like the getting laid once is a lifetime expense (i.e. you have to get married). I don't get "Ignobel Peace Prize from Pope Mary XVII)." The hippy (usual spelling is hippie) looking like Jesus is fine, but I think might be better as "look at any picture of Jesus" instead of "look in any church." And also younger non-Baby Boomers are now more likely to have long hair and beards "like Jesus" (at least the males are). "No one can blame the Baby Boomers the 2008 financial crisis...." This opening I think is fine, but the rest of it doesn't seem to fit. "It cannot be denied...." I don't care for this paragraph. The Baby Boomers put an end to the 'service industry', so now we pump our own gas, serve ourselves...."--this part I think is fine, don't care for the rest. Two types of Baby Boomers "Not all Baby Boomers...." I like the idea of two classes, but don't care for the description. Best & Worst Examples of Baby Boomers Dick Cheney, born in 1941, is not a Baby Boomer (they generally are considered to be those born from 1946 to sometime between 1961 and 1964 see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-World_War_II_baby_boom#Definition_of_the_boom_years for specifics). Also the Bestiest, Bester, etc. titles don't work for me. I would prefer "Best, Better, Good, Fair, Bad, Worst" or even "...Bad, Really Bad, Really Really Bad." Excerpt of Interview with Baby Boomer--Sorry but I didn't find this funny, the things Manson actually said and the things as far as I know he didn't. But the biggest problem is Charles Manson was born in 1934, way before the Baby Boomers began. Maybe there's somebody else here who doesn't fit--please check. There are so many Baby Boomers out there I'm sure you can find plenty to use in this article (it was the baby boom, after all). And this is real nit-picky, but Geraldo Rivera is almost a Baby Boomer. I think it would be funnier to have some who's way before Baby Boomer time (check 60 Minutes or Barbara Walters), or a fellow Baby Boomer. What are Baby Boomers good for? "If not for Baby Boomers you’d be roasting marshmallows and beating your kids with a belt."--in America, most parents still favor spanking with a belt. There are many things in this section that don't seem to relate to Baby Boomers (the term “cool," for example, was used by young adult Beatniks in the 1950s, so they were definitely born before 1946). Also "Illuminati" then generally referred to it's earlier definition of being illuminated. "Before Baby Boomers the entire planet was inhabited by a bunch of angry cavemen who did nothing but throw rocks at each other. And burn any girl at the stake who had s-x."--this seems a bit too much, and doesn't fit the other parts where you more-or-less realistically describe life before the Baby Boomers took over. 'The Baby Boomers “civilized” the human race. They stopped the goddamn war. They liberated poor Vietnam. They kept the "man" from pushing the doomsday buttons.'--I like this, but would cut the quotes from "civilized." Actually, in much of this article I'd recommend cutting most of the quotation marks. Used judiciously, they can help show this is not necessarily an encyclopedic usage, and can work very well. Used to much, and the reader starts noticing quotation marks more than the works in between them. In general, in this section you might want to do some more research on what is and isn't Baby Boomer. Primary Significance of Baby Boomers--:This reflects my personal taste, but I don't care for profanity unless it adds something. Otherwise, it seems like a substitute for a word that could be more interesting. Secondary Significance of Baby Boomers Again, you might want to do more research--surfing existed in the 1700s, and you might want to check spelling on names such as "Robert Di Nero & Al Pachino". Are YOU a Baby Boomer? Take the S.A.T. I often like quizzes, and in general liked this one. I'd like it better if you could actually fill it out. As for "My Generation was a song by who?" I have a true story about that I find amusing, but won't fill up my review with that. Why is Stan Owsley on this quiz and who is that? I like the Gloria-Them question. BB Test Results I like the must pass to get marijuana bit. But as for test-taking, Baby Boomers took lots and lots of tests--I don't see how refusing to take the test makes you a Baby Boomer, although the "...GENUINE, stoned-out Baby Boomer...." part kind of makes this work.
Concept:	5	To me, a lot of the problems with this article come from not having a clear concept, or at least not one I can see. At one point Baby Boomers are hippies high on pot; at another point they're businessman Steve Jobs; at another they're convicted killer-leading Charles Manson; at another they're unconvicted killer-leading George W. Bush. That's fine, because Baby Boomers are all those things (except Charles Manson)--but the article doesn't make that all hold together. Some sections (the S.A.T., for example), make it look like they're virtually all hippies. And again, most hippies stopped being hippies long before the 1970s even ended.
Prose and formatting:	5	The best parts would be rated significantly higher than this, but the lesser parts less.
Images:	6	Because my impression of these pictures varies so much: Don Johson (pic 8 and caption 7--might be 8 if you said this is a cool or hot BB). Mikipedia (phto and caption 2--I don't get this). British BBs (photo 9, caption 7.5). Joe Pesci (I would rate pic and caption highly, probably 8 and with a comment that here profanity works for me--if Pesci hadn't been born in 1943. But I like it enough I'll still give it a 5). Baby Boomers (like this) civilized the planet (9 for both pic and caption--great. Did you know Simmons says he NEVER got high or drunk?). Steve Jobs (Sorry, I don't get Jobs as a drug dealer--seems random. And if he only sells drugs, what's he holding? Pic 5 caption 2).
Miscellaneous:	5.25	Average of above.
Final Score:	26.25	Again, I think the best here is quite good, but the rest unfortunately doesn't work for me. With some heavy editing, you might have a very nice article here.

--I agree. But there are so many. Some went up, most went down, and some, like Keith Richards, are eternal. Where to start? On YouTube please search "Jeff Beck Hall of Fame" and watch 65 years old Jeff, with 64 years old Rod Stewart, and 64 years old Jimmy Page. It's so awesome that even God watches it. And it was just a few months ago. I see there is no article on Jeff Beck!? I only knew him in the 60s, and know nothing about him until he came out with You Had It Coming around 1999, which probably gives Joe Satriani a hard-on to this day. I wish I knew more about his middle years. But two times into the R&R Hall of Fame ain't doing too bad. And he's better than EVER. See for your self!--Funnybony 14:40, September 30, 2009 (UTC)
