Nutshell.svg This page in a nutshell: When writing articles, please consider the fact that not all readers of Uncyclopedia are necessarily cisgender, heterosexual males. Humor should be more accessible whenever possible!

A quick reading of many articles on Uncyclopedia can easily tell what demographic it primarily consists of: cisgender, heterosexual males. This is even further implied when the humor is designed to be only understood from this specific point of view. Such writings, even though they may seem harmless to the readers these articles are tailored to, are not necessarily as accessible to other people, and this may deter them from willing to join Uncyclopedia and participate within.

As such, when creating articles on Uncyclopedia, especially ones where the humor does not explicitly depend on the presence of a dick, try to be more inclusive in your humor. Examples of how to do so include:

  • Using the singular they pronoun whenever possible. Avoid using pronouns which imply a masculine reader; remember, much of this world is not male-gendered!
  • Avoiding inaccessible humor when unnecessary.

The same should apply when talking with editors, say, in their talk pages. Remember, there are four genders: female, male, non-binary and Lyrithya[1].

Fostering an inclusive environment on Uncyclopedia, and avoiding androcentrism, doesn't just help Uncyclopedia. It enables it to become a much more welcoming place for people, regardless of their gender and sexual orientation. Please avoid misogyny, homophobia and transphobia on Uncyclopedia. Using a hurtful attitude is very unfunny, and can easily get you punished.

Phallocentrism[edit source]

Phallocentrism is a relatively similar concept: a joke which hinges on the presence of a dick is phallocentric. Feel free to use this whenever the use of a dick is integral to a joke, such as when it comes to installing a ceiling fan. However, if the article's premise or a given joke does not hinge on the presence of a dick, avoiding dick jokes and seeking more accessible humor is recommended!
