I just did a BLAST search on this gene sequence on [1]. No results were reported. Perhaps one half of this DVD key is encrypted in one organism, the other half in another life form, thus much more menacing to the RIAA for redundant and more secure storage of the key.--131.152.10.241 09:59, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

I realise that, but in order to translate the 16 byte AACS decryption code into Base₄ (thus representing the "illegal" number as DNA), it took 4 genes to represent one byte of the code. I thought about simply breaking the final sequence up into groups of 3 (instead of 2), but it wouldn't work out evenly, and adding or removing any genes would ruin the underlying joke (such as it is). --  cScott (talk • log) KUN PIE NS FP 13:13, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

It should be base4 nucleotide chain, not amino acid chain.
