Well, not necessarily. With the first quote, you change the meaning of it. You change it from "we want the head in addition" to "we want the head instead." Also, part of the joke in the first one is the tone shift. Up until "failing that" it's very formal, and then it rapidly shifts into an informal tone. So I changed that back to the prior version.

The original Stern quote creates a better flow; the revision just sounds... awkward. So I reverted that, too.

I would never take it personally, After all humor is subjective. My changes were meant to show the Mother as being so shallow that is she can only have one part, she wants the best part. And Stern only wanting the part he saw as valuable. - Haze1956 06:03, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
