This week, death comes in fives. And while this death might be smaller in comparison, it is no less significant. Verne Troyer -- Mini-Me of Austin Powers fame -- has died after a recent hospitalization that made the news a few weeks ago. He was 49 and not exactly at the height of his career.

Troyer began his career humbly -- Pinocchio's Revenge, Jingle All the Way, Men in Black and Wishmaster being among his early titles -- before growing into a household name as Dr. Evil's pint-sized clone. He returned for Austin Powers in Goldmember, but afterwards his career began to shrink. He had to stoop so low as to appear on reality shows on VH1. Actors of Troyer's stature usually struggle to make big names for themselves, and get the short end of the stick.

Other than Griphook in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Troyer's post-Austin Powers career was not nearly the size it had been -- he was on a TV show called Lemon La Vida Loca, for crying out loud! His last role, as per IMDb, will be as Emperor Beezel-Chugg in Hipsters, Gangsters, Aliens and Geeks, which is in post-production. His last released role was as himself last year on Trailer Park Boys: Out of the Park.

But he'll always be remembers for playing a small role bigly. A toast.
