As you may know, Alex Trebek will retire in 2016. In his place, Culver City confirmed to have former contestant Sean Connery host in his place. Unlike Trebek, he does this:
In Jeopardy, all responses must be phrased in the form of a question. For example, a contestant might select "Superheroes for $200," and the resulting clue might be "He doesn't get it; he knows nothing," to which the contestant would respond "Captain Oblivious." The contestant would receive a correct answer anyways, and would earn bonus points. Connery would then have to have a glass of wine, whether he wants to or not.
Connery's hosting style? One of the greats. He has made contestants laugh with sexual references (an example being category THE RAPISTS) and jokes (correct, and you just had sex with Vanna White!!). He even forced everybody entering the first episode to believe that Trebek was born in Culver City. His hosting style came from Celebrity Jeopardy, where he had the freedom to antagonize Trebek this way.
His debut came in a celebrity episode, with contestants Bill Cosby, Sharon Osbourne and Burt Reynolds. Burt won, with a final score of $10K for the Palm Beach Golf and Tennis Resort.
Wall-E, a computer designed by Apple for this occasion, was redesigned by Microsoft, winning Sean`s heart and a million bucks for charity.
Today, Sean will add to his fame and fortune when he starts hosting in September 2016.
