The Queen has sent her first ever tweet while opening an information technology gallery at the Science Museum.
The message, which went out at 12:35am to 724,000 followers of the @BritishMonarchy account, was the following:
Media experts were quick to praise the Queen. Professional opionista Joanna Corey said, "Almost none of the content on social networks is polite or said with a good heart. The fear for an official account was that it would be bland and artificial.
"But by being foul-mouthed and ignorant, the Queen has shown herself to be a true 21st-century girl."
The Queen's appearance on the social network soon began trending; a number of users threatened to rape her and one claimed he would cut her tits off.
