Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had a worse Sunday than actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who was found dead after overdosing on heroin, according to experts.
Sports broadcaster and movie buff Joanna Corey told UnNews: "At first glance, you might think kicking the bucket with a bloody needle hanging out your arm is as bad as it gets - but bear in mind Manning's first snap went right over his head and led to a safety. If I had to live out one of those two moments, I would be like, 'Hand me the smack'."
While many in the world of showbiz have pointed out that Seymour Hoffman has tragically left behind a loving wife and three young children, Corey reminds us that Manning threw two interceptions, fumbled, and was sacked.
Corey noted, "Both men clearly have, or had, long running issues. Seymour Hoffman was found with 70 bags of heroin, so it wasn't a case of him just falling off the wagon this weekend. For Manning, things go back further, he's been playing Playoff games since 1999 and now, as everyone knows, he's got an 11-12 record. At least with a heroin habit you can keep it private."
Intriguingly, both men enjoyed their greatest success halfway through the century's first decade: Seymour Hoffman winning the Best Actor Oscar for Capote, and Manning earning his only Super Bowl triumph less than two years later. Little did they imagine, in those golden moments, that February 2014 would bring their drug-addled death in one case, or even worse, a solitary touchdown against a rampant Seattle defense in the other.
