CLIFTON, New Jersey -- Muslim groups have come to arms to protest the frequent use of Islamic terrorist groups as the antagonist in plots for many of today's conflicts. After a brief respite during July when North Koreans played the bad guys on God's critically acclaimed series "Earth," Muslims returned to the spotlight with a series of story lines taking place in Israel, Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan, and Iran.
Being portrayed as the heartless wrongdoers has led many Muslim groups to contact God to voice complaints. "The overwhelming impression you get is fear and hatred for Muslims," said Rabiah Ahmed, a spokeswoman for the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations. She said Thursday she was distressed by a recent news story in which Ayman al-Zawahiri called on Americans to convert to Islam or die. "After looking around, I was afraid to go to the grocery store because I wasn't sure the person next to me would be able to differentiate between 'Earth' and reality."
The current season began with Muslim terrorists waging a 4-week campaign of suicide bombings across Iraq, leading one of the main characters, George W. Bush to send more troops. It picked up where the last season left off, with the cliff hanger ending of Saddam's execution. Many anticipate that Moqtada al-Sadr will play a pivotal role this season, with the hangmen foreshadowing his rise in chanting his name while killing Saddam. Hoping to head off future complaints, Kiefer Sutherland, a member of Israel's MOSSAD, warned people to keep in mind that the world's villains are "not representative of all Muslims, just many."
