Yaya Toure, one of the best paid footballers in the world, is set to leave Manchester City after the club got him the wrong cake for his birthday.
Toure, who earns a basic wage of £200,000 ($320,000) a week, was said to be furious when the club's owners presented him with a chocolate cake during the side's post season tour of Abu Dhabi.
Toure's agent Lodda Wonga told UnNews, "He had specifically asked for a cheesecake on his birthday. It's really sick.
"To put it in perspective, when it was [non-player] Roberto Carlos's birthday, the president bought him a delicious cake made to look like a map of Brazil - it was just what he wanted."
Some of Toure's teammates took to Twitter to report on the fallout, with James Milner noting that Toure threatened to "scream and scream until [he] was sick," and Gael Clichy posting that "Yaya has just shouted the house down, saying that he hates everyone and that this is the worst day of his life.
"Then the gaffer [manager Manuel Pellegrini] told him he had to go to his room with no supper."
Wonga added, "You have to know how to treat players. At Chelsea, Jose Mourinho knows that John Terry is very possessive, so when it's Ashley Cole's birthday, he takes John to one side and gives him a little present too, to avoid any tantrums.
"City just don't have the same class."
