BALTIMORE, Maryland -- McCormick & Company (NYSE: MKC), the global leader in the manufacture, marketing, and distribution of spices, herbs, and flavorings has issued an alert to customers through it's U.K. Schwartz brand business unit.
Schwartz, the market leader for herb, spice, seasoning, curry and cooking sauce products for the mildly dyslexic said the following in a press release.
- "The regretable outbreak of hostilities between turkeys and curds in northern Iraq has forced us to issue an alert to our valued customers. We are aware that many of you use our products and rely on the recipes we post for you on our web site. We feel obliged to inform you that many of these recipes include ingredients from both sides of the meat dairy conflict. As a company, we feel that it is important to stay neutral and therefore we are removing a number of recipes from our site"
The implications of this move are unclear since many customers may already have printed out various recipes or even memorised them.
One pundit commented "If Schwartz think they can stay out of this one they're kidding themselves. They're gonna get dragged in. It's gonna be a bloodbath. "
