Article Idea[edit source]
Heres an idea. Throughout the whole article, it should be told that "or else.." is a dastardly powerful threat to unimaginable magnitudes. The article constantly states that if somebody ever tells you "or else..." you abso-fucking-loutly must oblige or the worst possible thing will happen. Through out the article, it is never specified what "or else.." actually is. However, the last section of the article is entitled "Or Else what?, to which it is reviled we don't know what, and the threat isn't actually that powerful at all.--Little Jimmy 06:00, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's not bad, but instead of "I'll get back to you on that," how about something like:
- Good question. Technically, all we can really do is ban you from the website, which is hardly something to get worked up over.
- Or else just leave it blank, which in my own opinion is actually funnier.
- Also, overblown wording like "threat to unimaginable magnitudes" reduces impact, partially because it's overused throughout the site. What's needed there is actually "blow-through" - something to convince the reader that the rest of the article is worth reading, without explicitly promising some sort of ultimate payoff. That's not to say the article is some sort of huge success, of course... but of course I'm only saying that because it's not my article. c • > • cunwapquc? 05:46, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- Good additions. I agree leaving it blank is better than anything I could think of writing. Actually saying "I'll get back to you on that" was partially a way of buying me time untill somebody else came up with a better idea.--Little Jimmy 11:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
