Talk:OCD
Scope[edit source]
This may sound nitpicky or counter to the whole concept of making things up in Uncyclopedia entries, but OCD is not simply germ-a-phobia. Most of the article makes it sound that way, but there's so much more potential for other sorts of humourous topics. The opening paragraph already describes OCD perfectly as "Omniscient Concept of Design". We should be building off the concept of obsessive rule making not just obsessive cleanliness.
That being said, my added material still has some germ-a-phobia humour in it, so that makes me something of a hypocrite. --Iritscen 16:34, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- The article also mentions other things like can arrangement, toilet paper roll orientation, and the fact (a joke) that the article is still in progress. And you're correct, I've narrowed the scope of the article, because it's supposed to be funny and not educational. I think I succeeded, because it was obviously acceptable enough to appear on the front page. :) Feel free to extend on it if you want, but keep to the style. ~ T. (talk) 17:16, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- I think I expanded the rulemaking part significantly in the "Bathroom" section and the "Leaving the House" section. Especially with the clockwise/counterclockwise stuff. Just writing it made me feel like I was covered with anxiety bugs. Crackpottery 20:56, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well put. And I don't object to the somewhat narrow focus of the article, really. There's a lot of potential just in germ humor. I was only concerned that other contributors would be misled and only add germ humor, so I felt compelled to say something. I guess that makes me an OCD case, doesn't it? Ah, irony. --Iritscen 18:50, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Your concern is completely valid. I'd be pleased to see OCD expand over time to cover more symptoms, but hopefully not grow to the size of You have two cows. :) ~ T. (talk) 19:05, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
You know, I do hate public restrooms. They're so friggin' cramped, and if they only have those air-driers, you just can't quite get your hands dry after washing them. --Gamiac 21:21, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
This is far better than actual psychiatry. Perhaps the state can institute the policies on this website for a better world. --Skinnerboxing 21:48, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I personally found this to be very funny. 4 stars, all the way. --Glowla 12:45, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
I also have OCD, and find this very funny, and very true -Random Person (holy crap, I actually looked over my message and found a typo, then corrected it, then looked it over again after re-posting this for typos, etc, etc, etc...)
I suffer from OCD, and I found the "examples of order" section positively hilarious. It can actually get like that, but this article shows it without being truly offensive. I found the beginning section simply confusing though.
