Hey, he was just doing the maintenance thing where he trawls the new pages log to see what needs to be QVFD'd or ICU'd. It's no big deal. Feature template suggestion

Please forgive this temper tantrum-throwing noob for the remarks above. THEDUDEMAN pointed out that my having the construction box at the bottom of the page instead of the top meant it could easily be missed, which is what happened.

But that gave me an idea. Why can't the feature box go at the top of a featured article? Some of these articles seriously decay over time, and a visitor might never read far down enough to see there was a featured version. Why couldn't the feature box go at the top? I need help

I admit it. I started this article simply because I wanted to make a link from Sun Bee to archery, and discovered there wasn't any article here. I thought there should be one, so I started it without seeing my target. I don't want to shoot arrows at random. So I'll do as my Mommy did, and ask people for suggestions. Why don't you make it about sex? You already have the arrow between two limbs with a sudden release. What is an arrow penetrating a target? And what does an arrow in a Valentine's heart really look like? And what about Cupid, the little boy god of love and sex who shoots arrows at people? And Robin Hood wearing tights with his Merry Men? That makes sense. But if you're going to do that, instead of making the article pornographic I'd take a Conservative Christian slant to it. Check out the Conservapedia article on sex to see what I mean. I'd be all like, "Although the Bible touches upon archery and its necessity in our ancestors' lives (but only with certification by an ordained instructor and on a designated archery range; all else is prohibited and condemned), it is commonly agreed by decent people that children should not be taught archery in schools, but instead taught to abstain from it until they achieve proper certification. Changes

1. I trimmed a paragraph from the history section into a footnote. The divergence into Sun Bees didn't seem funny or pertinent to the article, so I removed some of the detail. It's generally a good idea not to give excessive detail when writing, like how in Wikipedia they'll allow weasel words as long as it's backed up by a citation because nobody cares what particular experts think this or that.
2. I started a section about archery in a modern context. But I'm not sure how to explain the necessary rites or certification necessary for practicing archery, or even if I want to. Perhaps it's best to leave it vague and let the reader's mind fill in the specifics, as long as we establish that it's very serious business.
3. Next I plan to write something about arrow-on-arrow archery, and for ironic effect include a picture of a "Tom of Finland"-esque hunter who kind of oozes gay, if that's okay with you. It might also be good to write some biblical archery erotica (I'm thinking Song of Solomon here), but I don't know if I would be good at writing that. --C:\syndrome\_ 02:33, September 23, 2009 (UTC)

I like fish because they smell like girls. Seriously, it would be great to collaborate with you (your review of Sun Bee really helped), but I was already pretty much burned out on the archery article. Then Miley came up with an idea which apparently inspired us in very different directions. Right now I'm not relating to what I wrote or to what you wrote either.
