Better idea of the visual crap

Look at what the French Wikipedia does with their discussion pages. Not something to port over here directly, but perhaps something to steal and modify. --Keitei, who notes you needn't speak French to look at boxes 03:22, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Reminds me of a giant post-it-note. --The Rt. Hon. BarryC Icons-flag-gb.png MUN (Symposium!) Sigh. Double Sigh. 15:10, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Its kinda like how user pages have that blueish color on en.wikipedia. --The Zombiebaron 16:13, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

i think we are looking at the box inside a box thingy when they indent--Sir Silent Penguin Penguin foot.JPG "your site makes no sence" The illusion is complete 16:31, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

I'd guess so, too. Yeah, it's interesting, but I'm not sure it is that interesting. Since when are indents that hard to follow? Maybe it's only the french that have problems with it. Dawg.gif » Brig Sir Dawg | t | v | c » 18:15, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

It's not so much the direct indents, but it makes it more visual to see which comment people are replying to. Like if I had a :: comment, and then someone ::: commented and someone else :::: commented, and then someone commented to the same thing I was with a :: comment, it'd show that visually, by the nesting of boxes. It just makes it more forum like with threads and stuff. Anywho, I just hate forums and reading forum pages, so it might make things less... painful. :] --Keitei, who thinks forums are an abomination, and resents being forced to follow them 19:21, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

I get what is happening now, I like it, sounds like good idea to me. - Sir Real Hamster {talk} {contribs} 20:00, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

if your gonna do it do it so they are the same colour as like the skin, yellow is a bit overpowering--Sir Silent Penguin Penguin foot.JPG "your site makes no sence" The illusion is complete 20:57, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Try before you Buy

Ok, if you wanna see what this would be like, add one of these to Special:Mypage/uncyclopedia.js:

// talk page skin, blue
document.write('');
// talk page skin, yellow
document.write('');

Like this for example. Though after, I highly recommend you do this. Note that all talk namespaces as well as Forum: namespace should be affected if I edited these right. The yellow is a copy of the french, and the blue is adopted from the blue tint of Wikipedia non-article pages adapted for this method. If you want another color, TOUGH. ^_^ --Splaka 04:39, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok, it is now installed on Forum_talk: namespace. I HATE IT A WHOLE LOT. Look how much it screws up this page. If you don't start with this css, all old talk pages will be FUBAR. Anywho, to test it go to this topic's talk page. --Splaka 09:05, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
I hate it, too, but you're my hero. What would we do without your javascript and css hacks? ♥ Dawg.gif » Brig Sir Dawg | t | v | c » 19:41, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
