Forum:Editing Help
Sorry, I'm not really a noob to uncyclopedia...well maybe some of you guys will think I am, if there is an obvious answer to my question. Err. Ok so I'm trying to edit an article that I personally think is terrible in it's current state, and when I go to edit and add my stuff, it won't stay. I don't mean it doesn't take effect immediately, but what I mean is that when I edit it, save it, then go to start editing again, it says that there are editing conflicts because another user is editing the article...and it keeps just going back to the same old dumb article. Now, I don't believe the author of the article could possibly be watching the article for edits 24/7 (please god don't be watching the article 24/7...GET A LIFE)...but I did try to edit it last night and I got the same error message.
Now, I did read somewhere on this site that some authors use javascripts to stop edits from happening. I, personally, think this is a little stupid, and if this is the case for this article, I would like to know. It seems to me that it's pretty much a free country on uncyclopedia, and I'd like to think that just as I expect people to edit my articles (correct mistakes and even make them funny) other people should allow for the same.
The article in question is the one on Spider-Man, which I think, since the movie is coming out in a few days, deserves a good once-over and general edit. Basically the article in question says "OOH SPIDER-MAN IS GAY AND RAPES CHILDREN SPIDER-MAN IS GAY AND RAPES CHILDREN" about 50 times and it's just not funny. Sure, say it once or something, whatever, that's your brand of humour. Keep saying it and you're just an annoying little prick.

- According to Spider-man's history, people are undoing your edits. If this is an example of your best, I can see why. This, at a quick glance, looks better than your other edit, but it was probably reverted since most people don't take kindly to massive, wholesale changes to a mature page. If you want to rewrite the page, make your version under your userpage (eg User:Krzrzr/Spider-man), then ask on Spiderman's talkpage if anyone minds if you do a rewrite (link to your version). - There is probably a JS thing that does it. I just use the "undo" when I'm comparing the newest version and one before it in the "history". --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 23:36, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

ooooh. Ok, thank you. Oh, that code thing, maybe it was just a joke...I think I read it on a page that was talking about how ...err something about how people shouldn't let gay friends edit pages...err that sounds really homophoebic, BUT I swear I saw it somewhere!
Well, the whole thing I guess isn't THAT important to me...I didn't really expect the thing to act that way, because I actually worked with a friend to write the article on Rona Ambrose..and it didn't go like that, mostly because the topic was dead and they (the original author) didn't care much that we changed it...or whatever. I was actually trying to write the article on word first, work it out, then post it...but those first two were just me fooling around.
