Alternative/Punk Opera

An alternative/punk opera (often called rock operas) is usually written by a band when they have no ideas left. Most rock operas include a main character with a serious terminal illness or who just doesn't like life. The first track usually has nothing to do with the rock opera, but does include several lines about homosexuals and your grandmother's carrot cake. The rest of the CD is drawn out, but the listener can usually figure out the main storyline by listening to the last track, during which the main character of the opera always shags a watermelon.
Famous rock operas include:
- Pink Lloyd's The Wallpaper
- The What's Bobby Dylan
- The Who's Blind Kid Who Plays Pin Ball Really Good, Yet Is Blind
- Green Day's Canadian Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown
- Toe Jam's Ten Toes
- Dream Theater's Metropoils pt. 0.5 and Metropolis pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory
- My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade
